CookieCam tomorrow!
Today was spent refilling the pantry. Girl can't have enough butter. Anyhoo, I'll be back tomorrow at 12-noon EST to continue the cookie madness.

Woohoo!
4 dozen snickerdoodles done, and some peppermint swirls ready to go for tomorrow. Sometime tomorrow (don't know when) I'll bake them and some gingerbread and peanut butter cookies.
I mean, gingerbread cookies and peanut butter cookies. Not gingerbread-peanutbutter. That may taste weird.
Look at how pink the dough for the peppermint swirls is! I should have added more red food dye, but this was half a little bottle's worth, and I felt really odd putting more than that in.

And my completed snickerdoodles. Ahhhh...

Thanks for tuning in...see you tomorrow!
Current score: Kim 4, Cookies 1, Oven 1
Casualties: None!
Total Amount of butter used since the start of CookieCam: 5 cups

Update:
Here's what I've been doing:
Baked the snickerdoodles I mixed a few nights ago. The finished product was both husband and dog approved
Mixed a second batch of snickerdoodles...these are pretty popular and easy to make
Mixed and rolled a log of peppermint swirl cookies. The log will chill overnight, and the finished product should look like a ... well ... a swirl. I'm not sure that I rolled it tight enough though. If I didn't, there'll be a hole in the middle. I'll fill it with something, I guess.
Now I'm going to bake the second batch of snickerdoodles. Then, I'm headed out of the kitchen to finish dinner and put my feet up. 'Kay? :)

Happy Friday!
Today was our "Holiday Luncheon" so I'm definately not in a festive mood. The 1 hour of celebrating done sucked all of the fun out of me.
But with a little bit of sugar, a poof of flour, and some "special" eggnog...who knows what'll happen?
Actually, I'm going to bake the Snickerdoodle dough. Then I'm not sure what else I'll do. So stay tuned!

Not too shabby!
Eagle eyes will have caught me scrapping the first batch of Snickerdoodle dough and remaking it. Why? Because accidentally doubling the amount of butter and tripling the amount of baking soda and cream of tartar creates spackling compound -- not cookie dough.
But it was a successful evening, all told. After scrubbing the oven out (with baking soda and a brillo pad -- no more toxic oven cleaner for me!) I successfully baked a small batch of chocolate chip cookies...

...and a batch of minty chocolate stars (to be decorated later)...

...and after disappearing to watch Jim get fired from The Apprentice:Martha (sob! I wubbed Jim!) I took a pic of what this whole mess looks like from where I stand.

I'm very impressed with the quality of my webcam. The cookiecam this year isn't much different from last year when I used my Sony Handicam! Now I'm going to go watch Dawna kick Bethenny's butt and take Martha's Apprentice job.
Tomorrow night I may be shopping, so cookiecam may reappear Friday night.

Getting the cam online in a few. Tonight after some hot oven-scrubbing action, we'll be baking the dough from yesterday, plus perhaps making some snickerdoodles!
Hopefully no fires tonight. And yes, I'm in a skirt and boots. And I know about the run in my pantyhose.

Mutter...
I bet you didn't even NOTICE the gap of time I went missing to run over Mom's house for some more butter, didn't you?
Tonight I mixed the dough for the Chocolate Mint Cutout cookies, plus dough for Chocolate Chip cookies.
Unfortuntately, there was something stuck on the bottom of my oven that was smoking a lot, so I'll be baking both batches tomorrow night. I'll be using baking soda to clean the oven.

My mother's mother (MomMom) passed away back in November 2002. I started CookieCam to keep my mind busy that sad Christmas. When we went through her stuff, we found a treasure trove of goodies -- especially pot holders. Each of us (daughters and granddaughters) took a potholder. I chose the Christmas one, and have used it every Christmas since.
Tonight was no different. I was using it to pull out the oven rack while I was investigating the smoke issue. I saw flames reflected on the door of the oven. "Hm...where could the flames be coming from?" I pondered.

I am SO the suck. I really am. Mercifully, this episode happened in between cam shots.
I'm keeping the scorched pot holder. At least I used it.
