Stupid beading tricks: The pendant
Posted January 14th, 2010 by Kimberly DowdThere was a Kay Jewelers store commercial on TV around the holidays – it was for a pendant called Love’s Embrace. I’ve never been a diamond girl although I’ve had some pieces in my lifetime. But this one just looked neat.
But you know what would be neater? If I could do something similar out of wire. A fantastically stupid idea.
I have set aside my Friday nights toward dinking around with this craft of mine. Last Friday I worked my poor fingers ’til they were sore trying to make the pendant.
But…BUT! I keep a creativity journal now (read: mid-life crisis) and on Monday I figured out how I could do it.

The wirework you see is not connected, but it shows the scale I'm looking for.
I can’t wait for tomorrow night to see if it works!

I’m SO GLAD!! I’m not the only one who looks at these things and things of how neat they would be in wire. I haven’t tried the love’s embrace one yet, but it’s on my to-do list. I can’t wait to see how yours turns out!

I’m working on it tonight and I’ll post a pic when I’m done. I’m really new at wirework so I just mangle things until they look okay.

That’s what craft wire is for.
I’ve got copper practice wire that I bought when copper wasn’t $$$/pound.. it’s lasted for a good long time, and I don’t know what I’d do without it.
