Stupid beading tricks: Brown earrings

11 Apr

“I hear you make earrings!” one of my co-workers whispered at my desk.

“Well, yeah. But just for fun. I don’t sell them.” I paused. “I’m not very good.”

“But I saw P’s earrings and I love them!” she replied. I’m looking for something brown.”

I smiled. P’s were nice earrings. And they haven’t fallen apart yet.

“I’ll pay you!” she added.

My jaw dropped. “Ohmygeezno! I have heaps of beads and wire. Far more than I should. I keep buying. I have tons. Really. I’ll do it for free. I need the practice. Do you want wide earrings or long ones?”

She asked for long earrings. So, inspired by a few ideas on the internet and from the scads of beading magazines, I made these:

Brown glass beads, silvertone wire wrapping and charms

They’re about 2 inches long, which I hope isn’t too long. If they are, it’s easy enough to take off the danglies. I’ll give them to her tomorrow and bring a pair of pliers just in case.
