Furlough Dispatch: Day One

Furlough 1 of 2010: so far, not good.
Just to remind you all and inform the new readers (hi, new readers! I’m Kim and I’m weird!), because I work for a newspaper and because you all keep cancelling your subscriptions in favor of more modern news-trappings like television and the internet, all Gannett workers are required to take a one-week unpaid week off from work during the 1st quarter of the year.
Fair enough. Beats being completely unemployed.
Anyway, on day 1, full of promise…
Both my car & WM’s jeep were at the tire place today. His tire was flattened while parked in our parking lot. Mine died on the way to Target last night thanks to a horrible pothole on the offramp from Haddonfield Road onto Rt 38 East.
So we dropped mine off last night (new tire & alignment) and when we picked it up earlier today, we dropped off the Jeep (two tires).
Hmpf. Not good for the mojo.
