Friday Five: Personal Adds

1. What’s your favorite “just add water!” food?
Kraft Easy Mac. I used to mock the Easy Mac audience because, seriously, how hard is it to make Kraft Macaroni & Cheese? But now I love it, because it’s quick and only one serving’s worth. If I make a box, I’ll end up eating half the box. Just don’t tell me what’s in the weird white powder.
2. What’s your favorite thing to add vinegar to?
The only thing I add vinegar to is a tomato, onion & cucumber salad. We call it “stank salad” because it has a definite reek to it.
3. What’s something weird you’ve added to normal food?
Apparently, ketchup with eggs is considered weird by a lot of people, although I can’t have eggs without it.
4. What’s your favorite thing to add whipped cream to?
Coffee! It’s decadent and relatively low-calorie and makes coffee seem more fun.
5. What’s something you refuse to add anything to, even though most people add something?
I enjoy raw potatoes.
I’m just super-pleased that there are no questions like “Who in your life is the most disorganized?” Those questions are the only reason I don’t do the FF every week.

Week 2 of Weight Watchers is ovah!
Wt: 173.8
Loss: 6.6 lbs
The Weight Watchers Online robot is telling me I’m losing too quickly but I since I can GAIN 5 lbs in one week, I’m not too concerned by losing 6 lbs in two weeks. I’m still eating my daily amount of points and dipping a point or two out of my weekly ‘bank’ once in a while.
The next step is to add some exercise to my life so I’ll be a bit toned in the summer. I’m dreading, DREADING exercising, though. I’m just no good at it. I’m clumsy, I hurt, I get short of breath…it’s a hot mess

re: the Vinegar salad… My family calls it “bad breath”, and it’s an appropriate name for it! We use the vinegar mix (Vinegar, salt, pepper, and oil) for a lot of veggie +onion salads.. it works with beets, cucumber, and tomato, easily. It also works well to replace the mayo in potato and pasta salad. It’s the Swiss (or german) thing to do.

There’s a place here in Honolulu that has a killer raw potato salad. The potato is shredded into long, thin, noodle-like strips. It’s a great appetizer.
