Friday Five: Face Dances!

16 Apr

Time for the Friday Five! Whoopwhoop! Today’s subject is Face Dances Tonight.

***

1. How’s your poker face?

(puts on a platinum Cleopatra wig and some sunglasses, surrounds herself with writhing men)

My poker face is just as stony as can be
After thirty-seven years I’ve learned to bluff with ease
If the fib’s not serious or’d scare the faint of heart
I can sell it, I can tell it, you just tell me when to start..

Oh, oh oh oh.
Oh, oh oh oh oh oh.

2. When were you last red-faced?

About two minutes ago when I started writing in the style of Lady GaGa.

We had a surprise baby shower last week for my boss. Two minutes before he came into the room, I was told I was the one who had to get up and say something on behalf of everyone.

Uhhhhhhh. I don’t public speak very well. Which was why Radio was my first love.

Everyone said I did a nice job but my face was burning!

3. When will it be time for you to face the music?

I don’t see facing music for a very long time. I’m trying my best to live upfrontly and honestly and I think it’s working out well. I don’t want to be in a position where I’m hoping someone doesn’t find something out. I’ve done that before and it wasn’t healthy or fun.

4. What’s an issue about which you’ve done an about-face?

Our involvement in the Middle East. Years ago I was all about freeing women from Taliban rule and bringing Bin Laden to justice. Now I see that we’ll never get Bin Laden back and without decades of enforcement we’re not going to change an ingrained culture or make Iraq a true uncorrupt Democracy/Republic.

Now, I want our men and women home and to leave those countries to their own devices. If those countries don’t want change enough that they can enforce the change on their own then that should be their problem, not ours. We tried. Our methods failed. Bring our soldiers home.

5. Who’s overdue for some face-time with you?

I’d love to get a chance to sit down with Erin, Jen & Ruth. I worked with them all once upon a time and even though we keep up through digital means, I really need to stop time for a few hours and touch base with them.
