Friday Five: Colors yet again!
7 May
Happy Friday! WM is away for a few days to spend Mother’s Day at his ancestral home in Michigan. So I’m living the bachelorette life of…writing on my blog on Friday nights. I never was a party girl…
In unrelated news, the TV has been off since WM left and the quiet (with the exception of dog and cat noises) has been very soothing.
But enough of that…I know you’re here for the Friday Five! This week’s topic is “Colors yet again!”

1. Who could be described as a nightmare in pink?
Kate Gosselin. I’m so glad she’s off of Dancing with the Stars.
2. How long does it take you to type “The quick red fox jumps over the lazy dog” on your cell phone or computer keyboard?
Six seconds on the computer keyboard. It would have been five but somehow I’m conditioned to type the quick BROWN fox jumps over the lazy dog and I had to correct myself.
3. What item in a plain brown wrapper did you most recently receive?
If a mailing envelope counts as a plain brown wrapper, I received Mom’s mother’s gift in the mail yesterday. I saw something and wanted to make it for her. I failed miserably and ended up buying the darn thing.
4. Who’s got the loveliest cinnamon skin?
Beyonce, un-retouched.
5. When did you last take a walk in the lonely silver rain?
I don’t make it a habit of walking in the rain (damp! cold! ew!) but on Monday it was raining pretty hard on the way to work. A coworker and I mock-danced to “singing in the rain” on the way into the building, which I later regretted because “damp! cold! ew!” settled in.
and one bonus question:
what? Oh, okay…I guess.
6. What is the real inspiration for this week’s questions?
My first thought was a delicious cinnamon cupcake with pink frosting and silver wrapper. But, I could have sworn that the Lonely Silver Rain was a book. So I cheated and looked it all up because I knew the cupcake answer was wrong. The questions are all inspired by the Travis McGee series of books by John D. MacDonald.

Speaking of books, WM just finished the entire Harry Dresden series and I’m slowly working my way through too. It’s a mystery series replete with wizards, vampires and all of that nutty supernatural stuff that makes me chuckle.

you’re right – it’s BROWN fox. The person who wrote the survey is a nitwit.
