Diet Update: Week 8
4 Mar
“Week 8?” you say to yourself. “Funny, I don’t remember seeing the week 7 update.”

That’s because I weirdly gained 1 lb last week, even though I followed plan perfectly. Feh.
This week I lost 2.4 lbs, bring me down to a lovely 166.4 and a grand total of FOURTEEN pounds lost!
Can I get a what-what?
(what-what!)
Thank you.
My work pants now feel like pajama pants and today I’m wearing a skirt that was too tight to wear a few months ago. So I’m pleased as punch.
Now…I need to seriously, SERIOUSLY find an exercise plan that works. I’m a sedentary girl by nature, never did sports, exhausted by gym classes and my knees aren’t great (which could be weight).
I want to try Couch-to-5K, but I’m afraid I’ll run too far away and be too exhausted to walk back. Then I’ll end up homeless in Camden. Or something.
Any suggestions?

Seriously an inspiration.
I am not much of an excersizer either. Hate it.
I hope you find a plan that works for you:)
Hurray! So proud of you
I always exercise best when I have an exercise buddy… maybe that would help?
There are c25k podcasts on that have a guy tell you when to run and when to walk. There is also a notice of the halfway point, so you know when to turn around and head back home!
.-= dr dave´s last blog ..it seems impolite… =-.
There are definitely plenty of C25k podcasts, training guides, etc. out there and as you’ve found out, the trick is finding which one works the best.
One thing you’ll find is that running on pavement is definitely not the same as a treadmill, which I can do for about an hour. On land? Maybe 10 minutes because it kills my knees and to save them, I just refuse to train for running a 5k. I stick to walking on pavement and save the jogging for the treadmill. In fact, I walk about 5k each day if I don’t treadmill.
More recent versions of the iPod Touch/iPhone have Nike + built in and the Nike Running site has all sorts of plans to try. It’s a great workout partner.
And congrats on your weight loss! You’re doing great! I love the kitty litter bag
Oh, and give the Fat2Fit podcast a shot. It’s great stuff and I’m saying that just because they featured me on Show #63

First let me say that I absolutely love that you have posted a picture of the kitty litter and the coffee. I remember the LAST TIME I lost weight… I was carrying a big container of kitty litter into the house and made my Mother hold it for a minute. “I’ve lost TWO of these!!!” I declared. I think I confused her for a minute… but then she *got it*. So I know where you are coming from there. (Sadly those two containers FOUND me again…)
And second… well, I hate exercising so I really cannot help you out there. So… umm. Ok. I guess I only HAD a first thing.
I hate when that happens.
Good luck with the weight loss thing!
Go YOU!
@Ani: Thank you!
@Kristen: The only exerciser nearby is … you?
Actually, Mom wants to try a Zumba class. Because nobody is more rhythmic than Mom and I are.
@drDave: That halfway point indicator is awesome! I’ve just been burned before by taking a brisk walk TO someplace and whimpering my way back home.
@Dave: You’d think I’d get a lot of walking done because of my dogs, but they are pokier than I am, and I end up either waiting for them to get done sniffing or dragging them around.
@Deb: Hello, welcome and thank you!
This is my third big go-round with losing my bags of kitty litter and coffee so I know what it’s like to find them again.
Yeah, dogs are pokey. That’s kinda why I stopped bring mine along
