Dream: September 30
Posted September 30th, 2009 by Kimberly DowdOne of my people in my World of Warcraft guild joins the UN Peacekeeping force. As a veteran and former journalist myself (I am neither of those things) I call him, saying I can get an access pass to his compound and visit. He agrees, and I fly to what we called Brazil. It wasn’t really Brazil. It was some sort of Caribbean island.
I ask him how I’ll recognize him, and he says he’s the only one in uniform. I land, don my army dress uniform and meet him in the compound. The compound is a large building with a thick glass wall and ceiling. We hug and start chatting. Everyone in the building is sitting as if we were on an military transport plane..side by side and facing each other.
Mom swings by (??) and hands us a pair of free movie tickets. Unfortuantely, there are no theatres owned by that company on the island of Brazil, so we thank her nicely and she leaves.
As we’re chatting, I look beyond his head at the glass wall. Eight enemy fighter jets decend and start bombing the crap out of other buildings on the complex. We take up our weapons and march to defend. While I’m not supposed to be there, I’m not frightened. I’m actually excited about seeing action.
****
Although many of my dreams have nightmarish components, I am never afraid. Actually, I’m eager to take up arms and fight the monsters/army/bad guys.
I wonder if I was a soldier in a past life…

Hi Kimberly – a friend of mine just started a website offering dream interpretation services, you might be interested! http://www.theactivedreamer.com/
Also, I am curious and intrigued by your recent comment over at my blog…

Just my take – You feel some action is needed. You should be in a secure place but there is no safety and unfortunately, while your Mother is full of good intentions, her help isn’t useful to you.
You can see the danger approaching but, is there a sense that the enemy seeks to destroy the city or, more personally, your friend and/or you?
Intriguing that it concludes as you ‘march to defend’, is there something you know you need to take care of but haven’t? A medical test, job or relationship change? You know trouble is coming, you know you need to act, you are prepared to act… but you don’t?

Holy cow…thanks for the quick interpretation, Rob!
I could extrapolate that all to be about my job. I work at a newspaper and have survived 3 rounds of layoffs and two weeks of furlough so far. I really should be pulling the trigger (bwah!) and looking for something else more stable, but it’s so darn comfy where I am!
