Bullet dodging is stressful. And for whatever it's worth, I say forget Ruby on Rails and Flash and all that and just become a WordPress ninja. Being able to set up a really kick ass WordPress site -- i.e. learning to use the software to act like more of a CMS than blog tool -- is all you'd need to create 90 % of the websites that small businesses need. You could manage to have a pretty phenomenal web shop based on WP development alone. Phew! Bullet dodging is stressful.

I did when I got the ax and although I didn't accomplish much, it was nice just to sit back and think of what could be. I also rode my bike like a madman to the beach a few times just to clear my mind of what had just happened. Great therapy. Hang in there. You've got the brains--as cracked as they might be--to carry yourself to something good. I'm still looking for something better but the market is horrible now. Things will get better. They have to.
