Writer, activist, cougar
Posted May 1st, 2008 by Kimberly DowdEleanor Roosevelt’s always been a hero of mine. My email signature file is her quote: “Do what you feel in your heart to be right – for you’ll be criticized anyway. You’ll be damned if you do, and damned if you don’t.” If I ever realize my goal of building my own fully-functional PC from parts, I’m going to name her Eleanor.
I’ll give my MSN page credit…tonight it lead me to a great article on Eleanor Roosevelt at Newsweek.com: The Savvy, Salty Political Saint
The best quote in the story is in reference to an affair she may have had with her 32-year-old bodyguard:
If this were true—her son James thinks it is, but their letters have been destroyed—Eleanor, at 44, may also be the nation’s first high-profile cougar.
You go, girl.
(note to self: go read another Eleanor biography)
