No net, tv no telephone. Not a single luxury

Edited at 10:23 am on 5/6 to fix capitalization, grammar, spelling. I love my iPhone but I still don’t like typing on it.

Last night during the Flyers game our cable went out. TV went black, net connection and phone signal died. We do the unplug - replug - reboot routine and nothing happened. Called Comcast and they couldn’t find anything wrong with our signal and scheduled a tech call for tomorrow between 4 and 6 pm. Sad me. Our floor’s cable box is in the trash room. I heard TV from other apartments in the hall so I decided to check it out. Kind of like when you know nothing about cars but pop the hood anyway just to do look like you’re trying to fix it. I open the hall to the room and there is a guy standing on a box, wires in both hands.

“Hi! What are you doing?” I ask.
“Working on the cable.”
Me: Are you from Comcast? ( note: it is 11pm and he is definitely not from Comcast)
Him: Um, yeah. I’m working for the lady down the hall.
Me: Funny. Because Comcast told me that the earliest they could be here was Monday afternoon. Why do I need them? BECAUSE MY CABLE JUST WENT DOWN.
Him: Um, I’ll work on yours too. Tell me when its fixed.
Me: OK. And you’re going to replug whatever you unplugged here.

I went back to the apt. WM went down to see what dude’s deal was but I think I scared him off. I called Comcast and they said they definitely do not send techs out at 11pm on a Saturday. They gave me a number to report cable theft.
So all I can do now is wait and use the iPhone to glom onto the unsecured wireless networks in my building. iphones are cool but they can’t replace a 17 inch monitor.
It is quiet without the TV. Watched “Enchanted” today on DVD. Much fun though at first I thought it pissed on Walt’s princess movies a bit too much. But it got better. :)

Going to swap out my winter clothes for spring ones in the bedroom. Then read and get ready for bed. Sorry for poor spelling and grammar as the iPhone sometimes corrects things weirdly.

Edited again to add: Whoa…I wonder if it was the dust from my closet and the boxes of clothes that triggered the bad wheezing?
