“…Jane, his wife!”

2 Sep

That 3-dimensional cartoon on the far right is Cindy McCain. Don’t get me wrong, I like Cindy. She’s rich, and she owns more houses than her husband can remember. But holy cow…Michelle Obama was under a microscope during the whole DNC…what will she wear?…why did she wear THAT color?…why is she not smiling all the time? And when it came time for Cindy to take the stage at the RNC…well…that’s what she wore. That’s pretty badass.

I’m still on the fence in this election. I’m socially liberal and fiscally conservative. So I love and hate both candidates at the same time. They both excite and infuriate me. I’m wooed by the amazing rhetoric of Candidate A, and intrigued by the straight talk of Candidate B. I resent being told by Party A that we, as a country, are selfish, and I’m just flabbergasted by Party B’s choice of a VP.

But to be completely honest…the Dems put on a much nicer convention. Lighting, sets, speakers …better in every way. The RNC’s pretty boring.

Off to bed with me, where I’ll wonder about the best way to type the sound that the Jetson’s spaceships make. Brrbbrbrbrbbrbrr….pewbpewbpewb…

(aw, crud…the word “September” is too long for my date box! Must fix…)

I would buy that conundrum if the Republicans had ANY claim to the term “fiscal conservatism” anymore. Last I checked they managed to spend us into a bazillion dollar deficit. There is more to fiscal conservatism than “nobody pays taxes”.

I completely agree. I angst too much about elections.

    Great job with the Jetsons!!!!!

I agree the RNC convention has been a downer. But remember the Hurricane threw everything off track. I also think there have not been attacks on Obama as hard as other Dems in the past (remember how they beat up Bubba Bill Clinton….).

weren’t you fussing about Hilary’s expensive pant-suits at one point?

The VF article factors in the cost of jewelry, which unnecessarily inflates the grand total. When I was married, if you factored in the cost of my jewelry, I was wearing over $2.5K just to go to the grocery store.

I was fussing about the fact that they had four pantsuits made to “screen test” which one looked best on stage. And that 3 would likely never see the light of day again (although I think light blue made an appearance on the day after her speech.)

There are outlandishly rich people on both side of the aisle. But, funny, I can’t find an article on how much Hill’s four pantsuits cost.

I read on Perez that the outfit plus jewels cost over $300k while Laura Bush’s outfit cost $3-5k.
