Nails – week 4

From my cell phone!

Right around my birthday, after 35 years of nailbiting, I decided to stop. It’s been really hard, as it’s my nervous habit. I’ve taken up pot smoking instead. Kidding! ;)

And look! After all this time, the nails really grew! Those white tips are natural!

It’s weird because I’m slightly obsessed with them. My cuticles are still less-than-perfect, so twice a day I apply nail/cuticle balm to heal and soften them. I polish them every other day with Sally Hansen Nail Growth Miracle. I’m experimenting with color — the reddish polish that’s usually on my tootsies makes my hands look manly. Like I’m trying too hard. I’ve found success with very light pastels or non-red browns.

I’ve slipped a few times and found myself nibbling, but when I do, I put the nail balm on (it tastes awful, as it should) and I start over. My index and middle finger nails are growing faster than the ring/pinky nails. I’m not going to let them grow much longer than they are right now. I can hear them click against the keyboard as I type and because I’m at the keyboard all day, it wouldn’t be wise to grow huge talons.

But I’m pretty darn pleased with them so far.

Stop reading my thoughts! LOL. Seriously congrats! I have had the same problem. And somehow stopped finally.
